The VIP Safari Lodge is a seven star hotel located in the middle of Serengeti National Park. The hotel comprises of 7 executive lodges; restaurant, spa and sporting facilities. Additional buildings include an equestrian and 40 staff houses. The power distribution is through three main sub-stations on 11kV ring circuit and 3.3kV spur circuit. Light fittings and power accessories are of colonial type to suit with the architectural design.
The 14-storey building which is currently under construction will be the main headquarters for TCRA in Tanzania. Some of the facilities to be installed include intelligent lighting control system, automatic voltage stabilisers, Geberit plumbing system, central cooling system using chiller plants and electronic security system.
The 4-storey building along Maktaba Street Dar Es Salaam is powered by one 500-kVA 11/0.4kV transformer and a standby generator of the same endeavor capacity through 800A TPN main switchboard equipped with an automatic changeover system. The lighting system comprises of a combination of low energy fluorescent luminaires with aluminium louvers and compact fluorescent downlighters.
The building is fully air-conditioned with Toshiba Modular Multi-System which is a combination of inverter and fixed speed outdoor units
